Maria Luigia Gioffrè

Artist and researcher working across performing arts, curatorship, visual art and writing.Trained at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, London, she is currently pursuing a PhD (2024–27) at the Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica Silvio d’Amico in Rome. Active as an artist, director, researcher and curator, her work moves between institutional and independent contexts, including: Henry Moore Foundation (UK, 2026); Tanzquartier Wien (AT, 2026); Great North Museum (UK, 2025); Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci (IT, 2025); Kunstfort bij Vijfhuizen (NL, 2025); Fondazione Imago Mundi (IT, 2025); Primavera dei Teatri (IT, 2024); BASE Milano (IT, 2024); Biennale Teatro at La Biennale di Venezia (IT, 2023); Santarcangelo Festival (IT, 2022). She collaborates as an artist representing Italy with the Biennale des Jeunes Créateurs d’Europe et de la Méditerranée for the project Contested Desires (2024–26). In 2025 she received the Criticism and Research Prize for writing on dance awarded by Campadidanza Dance Magazine in collaboration with AiR danza – Associazione Italiana Ricerca sulla Danza, and published in the journal I001 Umanesimo Tecnologico.
